One Direction's Harry Styles and and Taylor Swift 'split up'

One Direction's Harry Styles and US country music singer Taylor Swift have split following a bust-up in the Caribbean, according to reports.

The stars, who have been together since November, jetted out to the island of Virgin Gorda, where they were seen happily posing for pictures with fans, over the New Year.

But the romantic holiday is reported to have lasted only a few days, before Swift caught the first flight back home to the US after a row.

After Swift and tattooed singer Styles, 18, went to Virgin tycoon Sir Richard Branson's private Necker Island, where he was pictured in a hot tub.

A source told Business Insider: "Richard Branson heard Harry was staying nearby so invited him to come check out Necker.

"So when Taylor left for the States, Harry went to Branson's island for the day to let off some steam."

The source added: "He did plenty of partying and was definitely enjoying himself while hanging out with guests. He returned to Virgin Gorda in the early morning hours looking like he had a raucous night."

Styles flew home to the UK on Monday and was pictured with a guitar case at Heathrow Airport.

Swift, 23, who previously had relationships with singer John Mayer and actor Jake Gyllenhaal, is known for penning ballads about her love life.

She suggested that all might not be well in her relationship with Styles when she posted the lyric "'Til you put me down", a line from her song I Knew You Were Trouble, on Twitter on Sunday.

She and Styles had spent Christmas apart before the One Direction singer flew out to the US.

They enjoyed New Year's Eve together in New York, where Swift was performing, and kissed in Times Square.

A spokesman for Styles would not comment on the reports.
