Sia has apologised after mistakenly thinking a photo of Nicki Minaj was of Cardi B.

After a fan sent the singer a picture of Minaj and asked if she would like to work with her, Sia replied: "I love @iamcardib and although this isn't a collaboration, I would love to COLLAB with her any day!"

Sia’s followers picked up on the mix-up straight away, with one telling the artist: "Girl move that hair out yo face AND LOOK.”

The hashtag “Siaisoverparty” began trending on Twitter as more users noticed the error.

Sia then apologised for the confusion, tweeting: "I totally misunderstood a tweet earlier that has resulted in me making a buffoon out of myself.

"Sorry @NICKIMINAJ and @iamcardib if you hear about it. Can I just like you both?"

Neither Minaj nor Cardi B have reacted to the mistake on social media.

The rappers have been engaged in a feud for years, with the pair having a physical altercation at the Harper’s Bazaar Icons party in 2018.

Sia’s confusion is the latest in a string of incidences where celebrities have been mixed up with one another. Earlier this month, Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall branded the media “ignorant” and “rude” after she was mistaken for her bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock.
