Spotify is finally going to let your friends and family use your premium subscription

No more being kicked out of Spotify at parties (Reuters)

Spotify Family is coming worldwide, a new subscription package that lets you and up to five others share your premium account for around $5 each (UK price TBC).

Though aimed at families, the news will also come to the delight of housemates and groups of friends who have been looking to share accounts but currently get kicked out if listening simultaneously.

Pricing in the US will start at at $14.99 for two users per month, $19.99 for three, $24.99 for four, and $29.99 for five users.

While premium subscriptions can now be shared, playlist, profiles and recommendations etc pulled in from Facebook and other places will remain separate, so you won't have to answer to why you were listening to NSYNC's back catalogue when it was you all along your little sister.

A Spotify premium subscription is currently $9.99 in the US, so the family plan only works out at about $5 more for each user.

Users have been pining for the shared plan for ages, with rival servie Rdio having rolled one out last year.
