Stone Roses release new seven-minute epic 'Beautiful Thing'

The Manchester band have followed up their punchy comeback with a future favourite

A month after releasing comeback single "All For One," The Stone Roses have dropped a second new track.

Titled "Beautiful Thing," the song is expected to be taken from the Manchester band's third album which will be their first since 1994's Second Coming.

While "All For One" was a punchy offering, clocking in at just over three minutes, "Beautiful Thing" is a seven-minute epic allowing John Squire's guitar to make more of a mark than it has in over 20 years.

Fans of the Ian Brown-fronted band - who launched onto the scene with their self-titled debut in 1989 - were expectant of a return when a string of Manchester stadium dates were announced late last year; the first gig will take place at Etihad this Wednesday (15 June).

In March, Brown confirmed his band were in the studio making "glorious" new music. If fans were left disappointed with "All For One," then it's a sure bet they'll be happy with this follow-up - producer Paul Epworth making sure it sounds like it's arrived direct from the Nineties.

Alongside Brown, The Stone Roses are comprised of guitarist John Squire, bassist Mani and bucket hat-wearing drummer Reni.

Originally formed in 1983, the band broke through with their seminal debut in 1989. They eventually disbanded in 1996 before reuniting for a world tour in 2011 - including three homecoming shows in Manchester's Heaton Park.
