SZA says her voice is 'permanently injured' in deleted tweets
Singer recently pulled out from dates on the TDE Championship Tour due to swollen vocal chords
SZA has shared a series of now-deleted tweets which suggest her voice is "permanently injured", after a brief departure from the TDE Championship Tour due to swollen vocal chords.
The artist returned to the stage at Madison Square Garden in New York, but appeared unhappy with her performance.
In the tweets, which were archived by Vulture, she wrote: "My voice is permanently injured. Tonight was the test. That settles that."
She later added: "I jus [sic] wanna be left alone my priorities are f**ked up. They been f**ked up. I need space goodbye."
The Independent has reached out to SZA's representatives for further comment.
Last week, Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony Tiffith announced SZA would pull out of the tour for a few dates, explaining in a statement: "Her vocal chords are swollen and she has to rest her voice to prevent any permanent damage."
SZA's album CTRL was named in The Independent's top 5 best albums of 2017.
