The Beatles: Get Back- Sneak Peek

Peter Jackson has shared a new teaser clip from his documentary about The Beatles.

The Lord of the Rings creator is directing The Beatles: Get Back, which features footage of the band from their time working on the final studio album, 1970’s Let It Be.

Ahead of the film’s release on 27 August 2021, an exclusive first clip was shared on Monday (21 December).

In the video, Jackson explains that he has recently resumed the editing process on the film after the pandemic delayed his plans.

Jackson has gone through 56 hours of previously unseen footage, with the teaser showing the band in the studio at one point reading out newspaper headlines over music.

Jackson’s film attempts to challenge the narrative that the album was produced at a time when the band all disliked each other, with the director recutting the footage to show the camaraderie that still existed between the band.

The film has been made in cooperation with Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and the widows of John Lennon and George Harrison.

Speaking about Get Back, Starr said: “There was hours and hours of us just laughing and playing music, not at all like the Let It Be film that came out. There was a lot of joy and I think Peter will show that.”

The Beatles: Get Back will be released in cinemas on 27 August 2021.
