The Reading & Leeds 2015 line-up if it only included bands with female members looks pretty sparse

Just 10 acts remain

The line-up for this year's Reading and Leeds festivals was announced yesterday, with Mumford & Sons, Metallica, The Libertines, Limp Bizkit, Rebel Sound and Deadmau5 headlining the main stages.

What do those acts all have in common? They're entirely male.

Music blog Crack In The Road edited the poster on Twitter, leaving only the bands with at least one female member - just 10 acts.

The bill looks particularly barren at the top, with only Wolf Alice and Marmozets playing the Main Stage and NME/Radio 1 stage, both in afternoon slots.

The edit shows that while female acts dominate pop music, they are not being recognised nearly enough in rock and metal - genres still blighted by macchismo - or else not enough women are starting bands due to persisting stereotypes or being able to succeed in the industry.

"Lmao this happens EVERY YEAR as well.... R&L is trash tbh" @thirdouting wrote on Twitter. "Ok but there are less current bands with female members??? It's not like R&L have done it deliberately to be sexist," @andy_c_o countered.

Update: Make that nine bands
