The Rolling Stones to resume world tour with Mick Jagger in May

The band will play their European gigs next month after L'Wren Scott's death

Mick Jagger is to resume touring with The Rolling Stones in May following the death of his partner, fashion designer L'Wren Scott, last month.

The legendary rock band are set to continue their world tour in Europe, starting at Norway's Oslo Telenor Arena, after postponing gigs in New Zealand and Australia until autumn.

Portugal, France, Germany and Denmark will also play host to the "Paint It Black" stars, who are due to perform at Belgium's TW Classic festival and the Netherlands' Pinkpop this summer.

Scott was found hanged in her Manhattan apartment on 17 March with the cause later confirmed as suicide.

Stones frontman Jagger returned to Los Angeles after hearing the news, describing his loss in an emotional tribute on his official website.

"I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way," he wrote.

"She had such great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me. I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her and also the personal messages of support that I have received. I will never forget her, Mick."

Others to honour Scott included Jagger's ex-wife Bianca Jagger, designer Marc Jacobs, Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman, actresses Olivia Munn and Emmy Rossum and British band Duran Duran.
