Twitter Music Monday top songs: Lady Gaga, 30 Seconds to Mars, new Alicia Keys

More than 40,000 Twitter users joined in the Music Monday trend on December 7, sharing the names of music and songs they like in a tweet using the "#musicmonday" hashtag. The week's popular song selections included long-standing favorites by Lady Gaga, 30 Seconds to Mars, and Owl City, plus a single from Alicia Keys's upcoming album.
Music Monday is a weekly Twitter trend that gives Tweeters a chance to find and share music. Users recommend music to their followers, and people looking to discover new music can search the term "#musicmonday" and scroll through thousands of selections.
This week's top three singles, which also held the top three slots last week, are "Bad Romance" from Lady Gaga's The Fame Monster, released on November 23; Kings and Queens by 30 Seconds to Mars, whose CD Time of War releases December 8; and American electronic group Owl City with "Fireflies," which was released on the album Ocean Eyes in July.
New to the top ten is Alicia Keys's "Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart," from the singer's forthcoming album The Element of Freedom.
