Van Morrison is a father again at 64
The veteran singer Van Morrison revealed he had become a father again, at the age of 64, and said his new son was his "spitting image".
Moondance and Brown Eyed Girl singer Morrison's wife and manager, Gigi Lee, gave birth yesterday.
Morrison already has a daughter aged 39 from his first marriage to Janet Minto and was today celebrating the birth of his son George Ivan Morrison III.
The tot has already been nicknamed "Little Van".
A statement announcing the new arrival said he was "the spitting image of his daddy".
"He is a dual citizen of Northern Ireland/United Kingdom and the United States," the statement continued.
Belfast-born Morrison first found fame in the mid 1960s as a member of the band Them with hits such as Baby Please Don't Go and Here Comes The Night, plus B-side Gloria.
He went on to find fame in his own right with the groundbreaking album Astral Weeks in 1968. Last year the chart veteran performed the album live in its entirety for the first time in 40 years. A documentary film charting the experience is to be released in the near future.
