The video offers an insight into the singer, from Beyoncé the slick businesswoman to the diva to the mother and wife.
At one point the star says that she is not happy with the way the stage looks as she fights to control her anger.
In another moment she demands that her dancers are painted white, even though there are not enough make-up artists available and time is running out before the show starts.
Beyoncé can be seen rehearsing in a sparkly leotard and even appears covered in glitter at one point.
There is also a montage of the final VMA performance, in which she sang her visual 2013 album in front of a controversial neon "Feminist" sign.
