Beyoncé has released a video showing her rigorous rehearsals for this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.

The four-minute behind-the-scenes video features the singer and her backing dancers perfecting their moves for the epic 15-minute set.

The singer performed her entire self-titled album at the VMAs ceremony on the 24 August.

The video offers an insight into the singer, from Beyoncé the slick businesswoman to the diva to the mother and wife.

At one point the star says that she is not happy with the way the stage looks as she fights to control her anger.

In another moment she demands that her dancers are painted white, even though there are not enough make-up artists available and time is running out before the show starts.

Beyoncé can be seen rehearsing in a sparkly leotard and even appears covered in glitter at one point.

There is also a montage of the final VMA performance, in which she sang her visual 2013 album in front of a controversial neon "Feminist" sign.

The video concludes with the star finishing her set and walking off stage with her husband Jay Z and their baby daughter Blue Ivy, who can be heard saying “Everybody said ‘good job.’”

Beyoncé lead this year’s VMAs with eight nominations and walked away with four awards, including Best Collaboration for ‘Drunk In Love’ with Jay Z. She was also presented with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award by Jay Z and Blue Ivy.
