We can't stop Miley Cyrus: Former Hannah Montana actress heads for first UK number one

She made her name playing schoolgirl Hannah Montana who leads a double life as a pop star, but now Miley Cyrus looks set to have a number one of her own in the UK.

The actress-turned-singer, 20, is set to debut at number one this weekend with her single "We Can’t Stop", according to mid-week predictions.

The track is currently out-selling "Wake Me Up" by Avicii - which has topped the charts for three weeks consecutively- by nearly two to one, according to the Official Charts Company.

Cyrus, who is the daughter of country musician Billy Ray Cyrus and sister to Metro Station frontman Trace Cyrus, is yet to have a UK top ten single.

Her 2009 singles "Party in the USA" and "The Climb" each peaked at number 11.

Her father Billy Ray scored a number three hit in 1992 with "Achy Breaky Heart" while her brother peaked at number six in 2009 with "Shake It."

Tine Tempah will also be making his return to the UK top 40 this weekend with "Trampoline ft 2 Chainz," which is currently at number three in the mid-week chart.

The track is the first single to be released from Tinie Tempah’s second album Demonstration, which will go on sale in the UK next month.

Justin Timberlake also looks set to score his tenth top 40 hit as a solo artist this weekend with ‘Take Back the Night.’ The track has climbed 27 places to enter the Official Singles Chart at number 32.

The mid-week chart sees "Summertime Sadness" by Lana Del Rey vs Cedric Gervais heading for number four and Robin Thicke’s "Blurred Lines" at number five.
