What if every line in Human League's Don't You Want Me was 'You were working as a waitress in a cocktail bar’?

That much is true

Sometimes the internet is so wearying you wish it could just be shut off for a couple of days, while other times you want to embrace it to your bosom for doing such a wonderful, absurd, pointless job. This is one of those times.

YouTube user Sonny Crockett not only altered Human League’s undeniable classic ‘Don’t You Want Me’ so that every line is “You were working as a waitress in a cocktail bar” by pitch-shifting the vocals and speeding them up and slowing them down, but he synced them up with the music video to boot.

The result is brilliantly silly, as if singer Philip Oakey lost his mind mid-recording.

It follows a fine tradition of bastardising pop hits.
