Yohan, a member of the K-pop band TST, has died at the age of 28, his agency has confirmed.

The singer and performer’s cause of death has yet to be announced.

In a statement reported by Korea Times, TST’s agency KJ Music Entertainment said: “We have come to tell everyone very sad and heartbreaking news. TST member Yohan passed away on June 16.

“The bereaved family is in great sadness. We sincerely ask the media to refrain from spreading rumours and speculation on Yohan’s cause of death.

“We would like to send our deepest condolences to Yohan as [he] goes on.”

Yohan, whose real name was Kim Jeong-hwan, found fame in the short-lived boy band NOM, before becoming one of the seven original members in TST.

Formally known as Top Secret, TST have released two EPs, titled Time’s Up and Wake Up.

The band weathered scandal in 2018 when former member Kyeongha was sentenced to 18 months in prison for sexual assault.

After returning as a six-member act, TST released three singles, including recent hit “Countdown”.

On 31 May, Yohan shared a number of images of himself to Instagram, along with the caption: “I want to travel”. He wil be laid to rest on 18 June.
