Stevie Wonder, Christina Aguilera, and Chaka Khan are among the stars to take to the stage and honour the music and memory of Prince.
The Prince family announced plans for the St Paul, Minnesota, concert in July – shortly after the 57-year-old singer’s death in April. When tickets went on sale last month, fans snatched up the 17,000 tickets in minutes.
Scheduling proved difficult for the concert and fans had already arranged for travel to St Paul before tickets even went on sale. But scheduling got caught up in the muck of multiple artists, according to organiser and longtime Prince attorney L Londell McMillan.

The Associated Press said the concert was initially scheduled to take place at the US Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis, but was later moved to the Xcel Energy Centre in St Paul. The decision to move to the smaller venue was said to have been a “business and creative decision” by Mr McMillan.
Tori Kelly, Anita Baker, and Doug E Fresh are among the artists performing at the Thursday night concern. Prince’s ex-wife, Mayte Garcia, has been added to the concert. Morris Day & The Time, Judith Hill, and Liv Warfield will represent Prince in the lineup.
Prince died in April of an accidental painkiller overdose.
