Album: Alison Krauss, Paper Airplane (Decca)
More clear-as-a-bell country from a woman who – though still just 39 – has been making records for precisely the same number of years as Grammys notched (26).
Her first album of all-new recordings since 2004 sees Krauss's gentle whisper broken only by bouts of bluegrass and Dan Tyminski's dustbowl yodel. Fans of Raising Sand and O Brother...will find much to love. As – more surprising this – will fans of classic-era Fleetwood Mac.
