The 1979 recording from a Belgian club date isn't of audiophile quality, but South Africa's exiled revolutionary jazz quartet is on absolute top form. The power of the music is shocking, with the drums of Louis Moholo-Moholo setting a furious pace for pianist Chris McGregor and bassist Johnny Dyani. But the real star is alto saxophonist Dudu Pukwana. Hear him wail his very soul out on "Lonta Uyagula". You'll need a rest halfway through, it's that intense.
