Album: Carole King & James Taylor, Live At The Troubadour (Hear Music)

Back in 1970, Carole King and James Taylor made their debut appearance together at Los Angeles' famed haunt, The Troubadour, as respected songwriters but unproven performers.

A year later, all that had changed: King's Tapestry was atop the charts, en route to 24 million sales, while Sweet Baby James had established Taylor as the era's pre-eminent confessional songwriter, thanks to the emblematic anthem of loss "Fire And Rain". Nearly four decades later, the pair re-convened for The Troubadour's 50th Anniversary, with material including "It's Too Late", a slowed-down, de-popped "Will You Love Me Tomorrow", and "You've Got A Friend", the song that bound them inextricably together.
