That is changing rapidly; Flo Rida's debut chart-topping single "Low" last year secured the record for the greatest one-week digital sale in Billboard magazine's history, and it has been bested by "Right Round", the track built around a sample of Dead or Alive's "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)". The album from which that is taken reveals the rapper to be a modest talent blessed with an engaging delivery but scant originality. With his approval of the "nasty dancer" in "Gotta Get It", and his pick-up line in "Shone" including his promise to get the video camera out to film their lovemaking, it's clear that Flo's time running with 2 Live Crew has left its mark. "Mind on my Money" and "Finally Here" are equally blunt regarding his materialistic attitudes; the Wyclef Jean collaboration "Rewind" offers a familiar valediction to fallen homies; and "Never" offers a depressing litany of his rules for life – among other proscriptions, don't let your head drop, show mercy, trust anybody, say you can't, or commit suicide. What a wonderful world!
