Anyone coming to Gotye's third album via twinkling torch-song-cum-YouTube-phenomenon "Somebody That I Used to Know" may be surprised, then disappointed.
Suprised because the 31-year-old Aussie is no mere troubadour but a pop magpie whose output veers from Beck-ish slacker rock to vocodered reggae jams. And disappointed because the wan vocals and listless melodies conspire to render such eclecticism as flavourless as a Cup-a-Soup variety pack.
