Album: Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, GP&TN (Hollywood Records)
"If I was from Paris I would say 'Ooh la la, la la la la'" sings Potter, who's from Vermont.
She and her backing band of long-hairs play what they describe as blues-based rock roots, citing Janis Joplin, Creedence and Fleetwood Mac as inspiration. Strange, then, that what the group's utterly competent UK debut most calls to mind is Suzi Quatro (showing my age). Potter & the Nocturnals are what a certain type of music exec would describe as "the complete package". Not sure the UK's gonna be their "territory", though.
