Album: Grinderman, RMX 2 (Mute)

Grinderman, the bestial, Birthday Party-esque outlet for Nick Cave's id, are not obvious candidates for a remix album.

And, fittingly, Cave & co haven't gone down the obvious route and just handed over the masters to this week's hot new Hoxton hipster with an iPad. Instead, they've enlisted non-dance musos such as Robert Fripp, Barry Adamson, Nick Zinner and Josh Homme, as well as relative young 'uns Cat's Eyes and Factory Floor, with often delicious results.
