Album: Iggy Pop & James Williamson, Kill City (Alive Natural Sound)
In between the Stooges and The Idiot, Iggy and his guitarist mate recorded this set of demos: a sort of torrid Stooges-meets-the-Rolling-Stones shakedown of the Ig's favourite urban-angst themes.
They were first released at the height of punk rock in 1977 and now resurface, remixed by Williamson, for the first time in ages. Nice to hear 'em again, although the feeling remains that, actually, Kill City was a dummy run for the vastly superior New Values that followed it a couple of years later.
