A rowdy live album from 1967 which was not actually captured at New York's Madison Square Garden and therefore should not have been subsumed by booming audience mayhem – it was actually recorded in a nightclub in New Jersey.

So what this reissue offers is the original album, in all its naff inglory, plus the music from which it was cooked up, without audience hysteria, much better sound and no fatuous cuts. This is JB edging from R&B into hard-edged funk, papa's bag and all. What a band it was.
