Tiny, detailed, rather formal acoustic arrangements; tiny, detailed, frequently mordant songwriting; two small voices exploring the narrow dynamic range between piano and "intimate".
Plus only two Trad Arr credits. They're interested in what happens, not what once happened. So perhaps we'd do better to think of this as domestic music rather than "folk", influenced more by, say, McAloon than by the yearnings of some blacksmith. Tender English music. It's also very good indeed.
