The second album from Franco-techno duo Xavier de Rosnay and Gaspard Augé is decidedly less pop-tabulous than their career highlights to date: Simian collaboration "We are Your Friends", their own "D.A.N.C.E." or that Grammy-winning MGMT remix.
With titles such as "Civilisation", "Canon" and "Helix", and lyrical references to the Crusades, AVD is prog-medieval at times. It suggests they're turning into a 21st century ELP or Yes. Was the 21st century really crying out for one?
