Adams' prowling, earthy guitar riffs are the perfect foil to Camara's airborne singled-stringed riti (violin) soloing and this is an excellent follow-up to 2007's Soul Science.
Once again the unforced idea is to find where American blues and rock sit most happily with traditional African rhythms and sounds. But this time there's more evidence of Adams' pop sensibility, in the shape of driven anthems such as "Keli Keli", with its sturdy Bo Diddley backbone and euphoric backing vocals.
