People who ought to know better are overexcited about the fourth MCS album, but for anyone with their wits about them, alarm bells ought to be sounding as soon as you see that the producer is Mark Hoppus of Blink 182.

When his band walked the earth, the dividing line between pop-punk (them, Sum 41 etc) and kiddie-pop (the Busted-McFly axis) was already blurring, and since the advent of Disney Rock, it's barely there. Which side are MCS on? It barely matters. Their latest effort is formulaic beyond words. Utterly wretched.
