Album: Naturally 7, VocalPlay (Festplatte)

Naturally 7, an a capella group from New York, are a big deal in the States with their hybrid of street- corner doo-wop and human beatboxing.

Forget the Flying Pickets, think seven Killa Kelas: their imitations of real instruments are fiendishly accurate. And there's the problem. If you heard VocalPlay on the radio unawares, you'd think it was a straightforward modern R&B record. One imagines they work far better as a live spectacle, a suspicion that the accompanying DVD goes some way towards illustrating.
