Nero are the London dubstep/drum'n' bass duo of Daniel Stephens and Joe Ray whose debut mixes the pop and the ponderous, occupying a halfway point between Burial and N-Dubz.
"Sometimes I don't know where we're going," laments vocalist Alana Watson in a typical expression of weltschmerz. Their command of "neeeooow" noises suggests a schooling in retro rave, and their cover of the Jets' "Crush" turns the sugary original into something superbly sinister and stalker-ish.
