A posse of Southern and Midwestern twangers united in the Angeleno sun, to play a four-square, tuneful, occasionally country-ish rock. Sound like the Eagles? Well, yes, at moments, in their attention to melodic detail and in the chime of the harmonies.

But not really. There's too much other American music passing through their hands for such a one-shot comparison to stand, and therein lies their vulnerability: they don't have a signature sound. What are they saying? Pleasant West Coast things, by and large.
