As commercial American hip-hop sits in seemingly terminal stagnation, people turn to the underground, and LA collective Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them are darlings of the cognoscenti.
Tyler the Creator has emerged as their focus of attention, ruffling feathers with rape-talk and anti-gay insults ("I'm not homophobic...faggot!", he spits here, unsuccessfully side-stepping the issue), which is a pity because his second solo album, while often truly horrible, is also fascinating and funny.
