Brazilian-in-Brooklyn Cantuaria has been making wonderful music for years but this latest release represents his masterpiece thus far.
There's even a radio-friendly anthem, "This Time", co-written and performed with Jesse Harris. The other nine songs are dreamy, drifting, oh-so-sensitive bossa-jazz, with Cantuaria's voice and guitar partnered by guests including Norah Jones and Ryuichi Sakamoto on piano, and Bill Frisell on guitar. Hear it and sigh.
