The likes of Kraftwerk and Gary Numan were a huge influence on early Detroit techno, but as house music's obsession with all things Eighties continues apace (and continues to baffle me), it was only a matter of time before it too discovered the dubious pleasures of soulless Teutonic tunes. The Chicago producer puts his 808 drum kit to work and comes up with a few nice tunes, but there's none of the glitz or fun of his previous work. I think the two vocalists, Melistar and Ms Kittin, were supposed to provide sultry glamour, but it would've sounded better if they'd been replaced by the speaking clock.
