Recorded last December in St Peter's Church in New York City – where the generous acoustic adds a nice bloom to the sound – the quintet of Konitz on alto sax, Peter Bernstein on guitar, Steve Gilmore on bass, Bill Goodwin on drums and Mark Turner on tenor sax, plays with quiet intensity throughout. Konitz's loose, expressive style doesn't seem to have changed since The Birth of the Cool 50 years ago. It's certainly an album you could fall asleep to, but at least the dreams would be sweet.
