While the video resolution of these two 100-minute Tokyo concert films from 1985 and 1986 isn't up to today's standards, there is any number of compensations.
Take Jarrett, who in the first concert shifts and twirls about the piano stool like a hyperactive schoolkid; or bassist Peacock, who even looks cool in a tank-top. The repertoire (all standards bar three Jarrett originals) is faultless; the performances inspired. It's a fascinating glimpse into Jarrett world, and the more cloistered second show is close to perfect.
