IoS album review: Plantman, Whispering Trees (Arlen)

Plantman are a three-piece from Southend built around the songwriting and dry delivery of Matt Randall.

One reviewer put it thus: "If the Velvet Underground had never discovered heroin they might have sounded like this." And there is some truth in that, though it might be more accurate to say that nearly all of the songs on Whispering Trees aim for "Satellite of Love" but come closer to achieving Sky dish of desire. Still, you've got to start somewhere.
