THE Peter Warlock Society is trying to establish that the celebrated song composer (real name Philip Heseltine) is related to one Michael Heseltine, writes Andrew Green. Research has revealed that the composer's son Nigel can recall an engraved family plate marked 'The Turret 1890', while the politician's great-great grandfather lived at 'The Turret', West Heath Road, in Hampstead. The society's secretary Malcolm Rudland has just compared family photos in a meeting with Michael Heseltine: 'We agreed there are distinct similarities,' he reports. Nailing the connection would be just the job with the centenary of Warlock's birth coming up next October.
