CIVIL ENGINEERING'S low media profile gets a lift with Ground Control (9pm R4). The first of four programmes on technology at work in major projects goes to the Cardiff Bay Barrage, intended to create a big freshwater lagoon without interfering with the eco-system.

The Archers seems to spawn playwrights: Following in the footsteps of William Gaminara, Tim Bentinck (right) - David Archer - has a play about school misery and revenge in tonight's New Radio (11.30pm R4).

It's a little puzzling that Mervyn Stutter's male menopause sitcom with songs, Love 40 - New Balls Please (9.30pm R2FM), has got a second series; but he seems like a nice man, and it stars Andrew Sachs, so let's not complain.
