The Duke of York attends the premiere of Warner Bros Family Entertainment's The Iron Giant at the Warner Village West End Cinema, Leicester Square, London W1, in aid of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. The Princess Royal officially opens the Sir John Colfox School, Bridport, Dorset; and, as Patron, the Butler Trust, visits HMP Weare, Castletown, Portland, Dorset. The Duchess of Gloucester attends "The Spirit of Christmas" Concert in aid of the Restoration Trust and the Home Farm Trust at Grosvenor Chapel, London W1. Princess Alexandra, Patron of Starlight Children's Foundation, attends Carols by Candlelight at St Luke's Church, Sydney Street, London SW3.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; Nijmegen Company Grenadier Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Coldstream Guards.
