I can recommend two things: Bullets Over Broadway, which I loved (pure Woody Allen transported into an earlier American age), and the Brecht- Weill Mahagonny at the ENO, which some of the critics have been very severe about and some have loved - I fell very much in the second category. It gripped the audience from beginning to end, the singing was excellent, and some of the tableaux effects they had, with all the cast on-stage, were almost cinematic. Brilliant.
