SHORE THINGS

When the Sunday Review's fashion team headed off to Camber Sands on the Kent coast for a day of sun, sea, sand and beachwear, the van was packed with a suitcase full of bright checked shirts, hot pants, fleecy tops, sunglasses, flip-flops and sunshine-bright bikinis. Then came the wide-brimmed hats, a good selection of sunscreens, the odd tube of fake tan, and a few thick woolly jumpers. Oh, and some umbrellas and waterproofs (you can never be too prepared for a day at the British seaside). For all those who like to take the sea air, but who don't want to strip down to a scanty string bikini, we then put together a selection of beach clothes that'll cover any number of fish-and-chip suppers, doughnuts and ice-creams. And, unlike a bikini, you can wear these clothes off the beach as well.
