Parliament will be opened by the Queen at 11.30am on Wednesday 17 November 1999.

Peers who will be present at the ceremony may apply for a place in the Chamber for their Peeress or Husband, and for their eldest son or daughter above 14 years of age.

A limited number of seats in the Royal Gallery will be available for guests of members of both Houses of Parliament. Members of the House of Commons should apply for these seats to the Speaker's Secretary, House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA.

Application forms will be sent to those Peers eligible to attend in due course.
