Statistical evidence on Eldorado confirms a nation's suspicions: no one likes it much. While the first episode scored a respectable 10.94m (understandable in the circumstances), it slumped to 7.25m for Friday's episode (understandable given the story- lines and acting). More worrying for the BBC was its poor showing against Coronation Street, Take Your Pick and Family Fortunes. This has led ITV to issue a gloating, and perhaps premature, press release headed 'Aildorado - Death of a Soap?'
