Peter Lanyon (Camden Arts Centre, 071-435 2643, to Sun). Partial retrospective of the Cornish abstract painter, enlivened by his odd sculptures.

Walter Sickert (Royal Academy, 071- 439 1785, to 14 Feb). Large retrospective of the British Impressionist.

Patrick Caulfield (Serpentine, 071-402 6075, to 17 Jan). Masterly display of 30 years' work by the least predictable of former pop artists.

Munch (National Gallery, 071-389 1785, to 7 Feb). The biggest show ever seen of the work of the founder of modern Scandinavian art. Some awful later stuff, but fascinating throughout.

Eric Gill (Barbican, 071-821 4141, to 7 Feb). Convincing display of sculpture by the craftsman recently renowned mainly as a satyr. T H
