Monopoly The Musical is passing Go direct to Broadway
Hasbro is bringing the board game to a whole array of platforms including the theatre stage

In future, you may not have to stay indoors to have a (ten-hour long) round of Monopoly.
Toy company Hasbro is aiming to bring the beloved property to the stage in a move that would see the board game become one of Broadway's most unlikely musicals.
Variety reports that despite the live entertainment deal being in the early stages, one thing's for certain: "It's not going to be a musical about people sitting around playing Monopoly." Or so says Matthew Rego of the Broadway-producing Araca Group.
Rego continued: “What turns us on is creating something that explores the world of Monopoly, kind of like the Lego movies have done with Legos.”
So, somewhat ironically - and extremely unsurprisingly - it's just another attempt to make huge money out of an ever-popular brand albeit via a different route.
The deal won't just be exclusive to Broadway either; there are reportedly plans in motion to bring the game to amusement parks, cruise ships and licensed content for schools.
At least they're taking a Chance.
