By day a dissatisfied English teacher, by night a "superstar DJ", Danny wanted to share his secrets with us. His masterclass, a busman's holiday for Danny, began after a few facts about the DJ phenomenon: did you know that you are never more than six feet away from one?

We were his posse and we were putty in his hands as he taught us a number of hip-hop dance moves in our seats, including the retro "Haddaway" movement. After successful completion of this we were told in a crisp English accent: "That was boss, both def and ill like my great uncle."

As well as creating our own rap tune and learning how to put on a club night, we witnessed DJ Danny's pièce de résistance: bootlegs. This included memorable combinations such as the a cappella from the Beastie Boys hit "Intergalactic", together with the theme tune from The Bill a real bangin' choon.

Unless you have lived under a rock for the last 10 years or are a member of Status Quo you can't help but be moved by DJ Danny's groove. We were in da house and havin' it, as Danny might say.
