Everything about this third version of Boublil & Schonberg's formerly troubled musical is sharper and more focused. The love story and the theme of religious division are for the first time tightly integrated. On the music front, extremely shrewd lessons have been learnt from past mistakes, and it now makes much more emotional sense. Strong, subtle performances from Matthew Camelle and Joanna Riding mean that "Ce n'est pas , mais c'est magnifique."
