Weller and Fonsia - even their names creak with oh-so-quirky charm - live in an old people's home and resort to playing gin rummy. Cue rising tempers and strife. Frith Banbury coaxes perfectly placed performances from Joss Ackland and Dorothy Tutin (above), but heavens! DL Coburn's play's so dated, I had an ice-cream in the interval. Somehow it won the 1977 Pulitzer prize. It must have been a terrible year. If the thought of Tutin saying "fuck" scandalises you, book now.
