Peaky Blinders season 3: Catch up on the story so far

Be warned, no blagger's guide replaces the joy of watching the 12 episodes you missed in full

Peaky Blinders finally returns for its series three premiere on Thursday but for anyone yet to jump on the Birmingham gang’s bandwagon, there’s no reason to miss out on the fun.

The BBC has released a handy video on the story so far to bring all potential Peaky fans up to speed in under eight minutes. Obviously no blagger’s guide is a substitute for actually watching series one and two in full and at just six episodes each, your binge session could last but one day. With just hours to go until the first new episode, however, time is running out, so you might want to give the clip a spin here if you have no idea who Grace and May are, or why everybody is so excited to see which one Tommy Shelby marries.

Peaky Blinders series three stars Cillian Murphy in the lead as mob boss Tommy, with Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson and Sophie Rundle also returning to their roles. Tom Hardy returns as Camden Town gang leader Alfie Solomons, while Paddy Considine joins the cast as Tommy’s ominous new nemesis, Father Hughes.

Series three opens on Tommy’s wedding day as he marries a mystery bride but before long, the Peaky Blinders become caught up in an international arms deal with global impact, leaving our anti-hero caught between business and family.

If you do want to catch up the old-fashioned way, both the first two series are currently streaming on Netflix UK, with the third joining the US service on 31 May.
